The best 30-minute meals book.

ci_30min

Having heard a lot about Cook’s Illustrated recently, I decided to pick up their book called The Best 30-Minute Recipe from Amazon. I’ve owned it for only week so far but it has become our go to book for recipes. Each recipe has been tested and re-tested to find the most optimum way to recreate it within 30 minutes without compromising any flavor. The book also provides useful reviews of many products (such as soy and chillu sauces, vinegars to name a few) and goes into a thorough explanation of how each recipe came about – why each ingredient was selected and prepared the way it is. The authors manage to make cooking into a science. It is also replete with tons of useful tips and tricks such as which cuts of meat to use for a dish, cutting and slicing techniques etc. It’s a great reference as you’re learning to cook and when trying to find a quick yet delicious recipe to cook on a week night

I highly recommend checking it out and adding it to your cook book collection. I am also considering looking into their other books as well.
